01. Genesis

Notes

  • The name Genesis means "origin."
  • Chapters 1-11 is about the creation of the world and the early history of the human race.
  • Chapters 12-50 is about the history of the early ancestors of the Israelites, firstly of Abraham then of his son Isaac, then of his grandson Jacob, then of Jacob's twelve sons, founders of the twelve tribes of Israel.
  • Genesis is part of the Torah or Pentateuch, which is both attributed to Moses by Jewish and Catholic traditions.
